While WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram suffered a global outage on Monday night, Twitter took to its own platform to say, “hello literally everyone” in what seemed to be a dig at the Facebook-owned services.

With these three major social media platforms down, people of the Internet had no choice on Monday night but to take to Twitter and other platforms to communicate.
Even Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp took to Twitter to announce that they were working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
WHATSAPP, FB, INSTAGRAM DOWN
In several parts of the world, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram have been down since around 9 pm IST. The three apps — all owned by Mark Zuckerberg — run on shared infrastructure.
The reason for the global outage appears to be a Domain Name System (DNS) error.
A Facebook spokesperson emailed India Today Tech a statement about the outage, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
